We have a very informative session coming up this month! We hope you will join us.

SPL October Conversation in Leadership: No One Survives this Alone: Considering Leadership from a Disability Justice Perspective

Course is free to attend and no CE credits will be offered this month.

Speaker:

Dr. Christina M. Van Puymbroeck

Participants will be introduced to basic principals of Disability Justice ("DJ") such as collective liberation, interdependence, and leadership of the most impacted. We will reflect on how concepts derived from this developing body of work might apply to and inform the ways that we enact and embody leadership. Intended to be both interactive and applied, this conversation offers a space to (re)consider our work as leaders rooted in justice, liberation, and a politic of care.

Psychologists who lead, advise leaders, and develop leadership capability bring a distinctive perspective to the practice of leadership. The 2027 SPL Annual Conference will explore how psychological science and professional practice can strengthen leadership wherever it occurs.
Leadership today demands clarity about where to go, judgment about what to carry forward and what to reconsider, and the courage to shape what comes next. Through presentations, dialogue, reflection, and shared learning, the conference will examine how psychologists take on leadership responsibility, advise decision-makers, develop leadership in others, and influence organizations and systems.

Conference programming will take place Friday, April 9, and Saturday, April 10, with pre-conference programming on Thursday, April 8, and post-conference programming on Sunday, April 11.

The Hilton Portland Downtown is a historic 4-star hotel located at 921 SW 6th Ave in downtown Portland, OR.
